1. Scientists from the United States Naval Research Laboratory have discovered a new class of semiconductor nanocrystals with bright ground-state excitons, which could significantly improve the efficiency of light-emitting devices and other optoelectronic technologies. 2. The research team identified over 150 potential materials and narrowed it down to 28 candidates using advanced first-principles calculations. 3. This breakthrough could lead to the development of ultrabright and highly efficient light-emitting devices, lasers, and other technologies.
