<p>➀ Researchers from the Institute for Molecular Science have improved the speed of DNA-nanoparticle motors by optimizing their design, bringing them closer to the speeds of natural motor proteins.</p><p>➁ The DNA-nanoparticle motor uses the 'burnt-bridge' Brownian ratchet mechanism, where the degradation of RNA/DNA bonds propels the motor forward.</p><p>➂ By increasing the concentration of RNase H, the speed of the motor was significantly enhanced, though it came at the cost of reduced run length and processivity.</p>
