NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang has announced plans to significantly expand the company's workforce, aiming to increase the headcount from the current 32,000 to 50,000 employees. Alongside this, the company is set to introduce 100 million AI assistants to enhance its operational efficiency.
Huang's stance on AI is optimistic, as he does not believe that AI will lead to job elimination. Instead, he sees AI as an opportunity for the company to grow and innovate, leveraging the technology to increase the overall output of the company.
The AI assistants are expected to assist in running new AI models and launching AI applications, which are being developed by and around NVIDIA. Huang also commended Elon Musk for the rapid development of a supercomputer in just 19 days, a process that typically takes about 3 years.
NVIDIA is currently delivering early Blackwell AI GPUs and GB200 AI servers to selected clients, with plans to produce and ship a substantial amount of Blackwell AI GPU silicon in the coming months. This includes the new ultra-enthusiast GeForce RTX 5090, high-end GeForce RTX 5080, and the new Blackwell mid-range GeForce RTX 5070, which is rumored to come in both 12GB and 18GB GDDR7 memory configurations.
