<p>Yesterday, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) announced the establishment of the Patent Fraud Detection and Mitigation Working Group to address threats to the U.S. patent system and ensure its integrity.</p><p>The group aims to limit improper activities in patent applications and reexamination proceedings, and will focus on addressing erroneous fee certifications, monitoring suspicious filings, and identifying potential misrepresentations to the USPTO.</p><p>The agency has also launched a new webpage to provide information on new and potential threats in patent applications and reexamination proceedings.</p>
