❶ A YouTuber, Hyperspace Pirate, demonstrated how to create liquid nitrogen (LN2) using components from refrigerators and air conditioning units. ❷ The homemade cryocooler produced 130cc of LN2 per hour, costing around $1.29 per liter, compared to $5 per liter if bought commercially. ❸ The project was mainly for fun and experimentation, using LN2 to freeze and shatter objects, and to demonstrate superconducting properties with YBCO.
