Vishay Intertechnology has introduced the PTCEL High Energy series, a new range of PTC thermistors designed for high-performance applications in automotive and industrial circuits. These thermistors handle five times more energy than competitors at elevated temperatures, offer resistance values up to 1.5 kΩ, and support high voltages up to 1200 VDC. The series features energy absorption levels up to 340 J, supports over 100,000 inrush power cycles, and is resistant to non-switching peak powers up to 25 kW. The thermistors are self-protecting and AEC-Q200 qualified, suitable for various applications such as AC/DC and DC/DC converters, battery management systems, and motor drives.
