Apple is reportedly working on a revolutionary foldable iPad concept, aiming to eliminate the crease that is common in current foldable devices. This new concept is expected to be launched around 2028, offering users a unique experience of having two iPads side-by-side when the device is unfolded.
According to Mark Gurman, an insider at Apple, the company is focusing on creating a design that is free of any visible creases. This is a significant challenge, as even leading companies like Samsung have not been able to completely eliminate the crease in their foldable devices.
Apple's approach to the foldable iPad is to use iPadOS as the operating system. Gurman suggests that Apple will not create a hybrid version of its tablet operating system, but rather enhance iPadOS to support most macOS applications by the time the new foldable iPad hits the market.
