Electronic Arts (EA) recently revealed the official drop rates for the rarest lootbox item in Apex Legends, the Heirloom Shards, in an effort to increase transparency with players.

EA initially had to share these drop rates due to new laws in South Korea that require publishers to disclose loot box drop rates for informed purchasing decisions. According to EA, the drop rate for Heirloom Shards is 0.045% for a player who has no cosmetics in their inventory.

It's important to note that players with a larger inventory of cosmetics will have a higher drop rate due to the duplication protection rule, which prevents players from receiving the same item twice. This means that as players earn more cosmetics, their chances of obtaining an Heirloom Shard increase.

However, EA also mentioned that if a player does not receive an Heirloom Shard after opening 500 Apex Packs, they are guaranteed to get one.
