1. A new elastocaloric air conditioning technology developed by the University of Saarland allows buildings to be cooled and heated through ventilation slits without harmful refrigerants. 2. The technology, listed in the World Economic Forum's TOP Ten Technologies 2024, has received a four million Euro grant from the European Innovation Council. 3. The project aims to develop a prototype of a decentralized room climate control system within the next three years.
